balance transfer
rate is available
for the term of
the balance. The
rate of 4.9% APR
assumes a monthly
rate of 0.40%,
an average line
of credit of £1,000
and no annual
fee. To qualify
for this rate
balances must
be transferred
within 6 months
of opening the
account. Balance
transfers conducted
after the initial
6 month period
from the date
your account is
opened will be
charged at a standard
rate of 0.79%
per month (9.9%
APR), fixed until
you've paid off
that balance in
full. Interest
is charged from
the date American
Express pay the
lender until the
amount is fully
repaid to them
(i.e.) there is
no interest-free
period. The minimum
balance transfer
is £100
and you can make
up to 12 transfers
in any 12 month
period.
